Site Update

Wow, that sounds official!

Sorry to interrupt you while you were undoubtedly enjoying my fantastic review of one of the best games EVAHR, but I thought I'd compensate for the lack of posts lately with yet another update today!

You see, giving in to popular demand (by myself), I have now provided the games in the Alphabetic List with links to their responding reviews, so that it will be easier for you, my dear dear reader (I accept Paypal) to find the reviews belonging to the games you want to know about, because my opinion is FINAL.
Well, better than IGN anyways.

Now, get your greedy click-fingers over there and have fun!

Would a game review here and there on my site help getting the link to it back up on this site? :P

Anyhow, did you play Baten Kaitos in english or japanese?

And I'm thinking of buying Resident Evil 4 now, but is it worth it? I'm afraid it's gonna be really really hard, and I just found out I don't like that in a game too much anymore, except when it's about pure skill, as in the mario games.

I came to this conclusion by playing Killer 8, which unlocks when you complete Killer 7. While Killer 7 was quite easy, the leap to Killer 8 is such a big one that I really don't want to waste too much of my time with dying and retrieving dead bodies. And only for one unlockable extra, which is the first level, where every enemy is replaced by a guy with a grasshopper for a head. Not quite the thing you hope for. Instead, I'm going to got through the easy verion again, and tape all the great cutscenes and important points in the story. Maybe that'll help clear a few things out, because this story is more complex than Xenogears and Chrono Cross combined and multiplied. In my first run through the game, I had absolutely NO idea what the hell was going on, it's only when I started reading the plot analysis on gamefaqs that some things became clear. And that analysis is over a 100 pages long!

Anyhow, what do you say, RE4, yes or no? Is it frustatingly difficult or not? More over, is it worth it?

Woopsie!

Don't know WHAT happened there. Must've been asleep when I was changing the other Link or something.
But rest assured, the link to your page has been restored in full glory!

Anyhow, I totally understand what you mean. As much as I'm still a huge gamer and I'm gaming possibly even more than ever, I have noticed that my tolerance for difficulty has waned. A LOT.
Also, I'm very easy to immediately sprint to Gamefaqs as soon as I don't know what to do next, nowadays. I've become lazy.

But, Resident Evil 4.
Yes.
Yes.

YES!

Game of the year, and one of the best experiences in my ENTIRE LIFE. Damn, it's absolutely FANTASTIC.
Don't worry about the difficulty. It's challenging, but never too hard. On your first playthrough you will probably die a LOT, but that's normal, and you can always restart at the beginning of the area, no need to restart from last saves, and the urge to improve on yourself, and go on to see what's next is REALLY big, because it's all so insanely beautiful.
And trust me, you'll see things you've NEVER seen before.

Well, not in a Video Game at least.
Honestly, the only REALLY hard stuff is the extra scenario's you can unlock, like with all the other Resident Evils. The main story is definitely a challenge, but never too much, and skillful gameplay will always get you through.

There's no excuse NOT to have this game if you own a GC. I haven't got round to this game for the project yet, but you can be assured it will get a 10.
Oh. Er. Spoiler!?

Well, that sounds encouraging enough. And hey, it's only 4000 yen, sounds like a bargain to me!

About the gamefaqs thing, MAN am I glad that site exists sometimes. I got the very same thing. Heck, I even checked out hints for Killer 7, which must have the simplest puzzles EVER. I just don't feel the urge anymore to figure it out myself. Guess I look for different things in games nowadays.

Restarting at the beginning of areas is GOOD. Thanks for that comment. Consider the game bought as of tomorrow. Along with Momotaro Dentetsu.

Well, I just beat the bigg troll boss in Biohazard 4. Man, what a game indeed. And I'm guessing I ain't seen nothing yet, right? But up until this point, the game's fantastic. The only gripe I have now is that I don't know whether to buy new weapons or upgrade the older ones... Any tips in this department?

Also bought Momotaro Dentetsu 11 and Biohazard, the GC remake. I didn't really want BH1, but check this, it's 1000 yen, all NEW, including the 59 block memory card. In the same store, you can buy 59 block cards for 1500 yen. So not only is it cheaper, you also get a great game with it too. So I guess I'm gonna stock up on BH1s, until I have enough memory cards to last me a while. Seeing some games take 59 blocks.. PER SAVE.

Man, I wish I was in Japan so I could get some cheap-ass games as well. Still, that's not going to happen as we all know.

BioHazard 1 is a great game as well, and it looks absolutely gorgeous. Best Prerendered backgrounds EVER!

How's Momotetsu by the way?

About BH4, you're free to do whatever you want, you're not going to get in trouble if you make the "wrong" decision or anything, cos there IS no wrong decision. I think I spent more money upgrading than buying new stuff though.
But you'll probably want to get a Sniper Rifle soon. Not only is it REALLY useful, you're also going to need it during a certain scene later on, not to mention that it's handy against most bosses.

And yeah, the Troll is really cool, very LOTR. I remember when he first picked up an entire TREE, I went like "oh......SHIT!!!"
There's much more intense scenes in the game though, and I won't spoil anything for you, but let me just say that you should be happy you had to deal with only ONE so far....

I'm sure Biohazard 1 is also great, but the controls just do NOT feel right. My characters are walking about like they had gallons of beer for breakfast. At the time, I guess noone really cared, but now, with BH4 around, it's just really hard to accept the freaky controls.

Still though, the graphics are indeed gorgeous, and the free memory card (1000 yen! That's next to nothing!) kinda made it an easy decision.

Momotetsu is great as always. Incidentally, it's the same version you and I played in holland, and it's stayed exactly the same for the cube.

BH4 keeps amazing me. You mentioned there would be more intense scenes, but the whole GAME is intense to me. I'm playing it on normal difficulty, and the scene where you have to fend off the monks from Ashley while she's operating the cranks in the castle was kinda hefty. Especially since I was REALLY low on bullets at the time. I'm now at the dragon room, with all the fire, probably to get the last piece of a puzzle to open up a new pathway in the castle.

Can't wait to put the little Mozart dude out of his misery. Why does he remind me of friggin Mozart anyway?

What a game, easily one of the most impressive I've ever played.

Told ya it was great, didn't I? ;)

Yeah, that scene with the monks was VERY heavy, definitely one of the hardest.
Also, that "Night of the Living Dead"-esque scene in that small house with ALL the dudes crawling through the windows and everything...that had me SHITTING my pants!

I loved that Dragon room, very pretty, and a VERY good room to start using your Sniper Rifle.
And don't worry, Mozart Boy will get his just deserves.
Also, it's nice to know that at this point, you're not even HALFWAY through the game yet!

Best damn money I've ever spent.

Not even halfway through the game!? Gasp!

I just defeated little Mozart boy. He had some close encounters with my magnum bullets, worked like a dream. Disc 2 hasn't even started yet, but I'm guessing that's not too far off now. I mean, COME ON, how big can this game be? The house scene was indeed great, I already replayed it a couple of times.

Anyway, off to drink beer now, I'll keep you posted on my BH4 run-through.
