End of Eternity is...

initially as confusing as a hail of machinegun bullets, but once you get the hang of it it's addictive as HELL.

Bullet Hell, perhaps. AHAHAHA.

Sega is back on track, releasing another incredibly imaginative and original RPG to the HD consoles, again involving extensive gunplay.
First there was Valkyria Chronicles, now there's End of Eternity (or Resonance of Fate as it will be known in the West).

The first couple of hours confused me to no end, but now it's got a full and relentless grip on me (something FFXIII never managed to do) and it's pushing even the mighty BioShock 2 aside for valuable game time.

Man, 2010 has been a fucking kick-ass year for games so far and it's only mid-february.

一万マン

With the purchase of a second hand copy of Devil May Cry 4 for the XBox 360, the estimated value of my collection (according to IGN) has now officially broken the 10.000 dollar barrier!
Woohoo!

Time to break open the Bubblies!

It should be of note that the estimated value of DMC4 was apparently 60 dollars (!) so I don't think this should be taken at face value, considering the game cost me 1300 yen.
Still, it's nice to hear!

Buying the game was, appropriately, quite the event.
The guy brought back a copy of the game from the deep dark recesses of Behind the Counter, and was so eager to show it to me, the disc left his hands and was flung halfway through the store.

OOPS.

Naturally, he couldn't sell me that (not in Japan at least), so he brought me another copy of the game, which he showed to me, this time a bit more restrainedly.
I normally don't really pay much attention to this, but just for form I checked the proferred disc, only to notice there was this HUGE GASH across it.
So I said "what the heck is this?", received profuse apologies, and had the third copy of the game offered to me (how many of copies do they have!? This is not a good sign), which was to my satisfaction.

Excitement!
